Since 2015, Suzanne has been leading her own consulting and executive coaching practice (SGL Consulting, LLC,) focused on empowering leaders to thrive in their professional lives. With a wealth of experience in both the education and non-profit sectors, she understands first-hand the opportunities and challenges faced by those striving to make a change in our world. Through that work, she advises senior leaders and organizations on overall human capital strategy, management and leadership, staff culture and performance, diversity and inclusion, change management, and employee engagement.
Suzanne began her professional journey as an educator and subsequently served as an Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs, held the position of Vice President at Teach For America, and served as Deputy Superintendent of Talent at Detroit Public Schools.
Based in Charlottesville, VA, Suzanne holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership & Ethics from St. Edward’s University. She is a Certified Professional Diversity Coach, holds a Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from the International Coach Federation, and is an Immunity to Change facilitator. Actively involved in the community, Suzanne is an alumnus of the Leaders Lab program, an appointed member of the Charlottesville Human Rights Commission, the Co-Chair of the Madison House Board of Directors, and a volunteer at The Haven.
She loves to read (especially fiction) and enjoys soaking in all that the Charlottesville area has to offer.
