Traci Simmons is the Acting Chief Executive Officer for Opportunities NB (ONB). Traci was formerly ONB’s Chief Operating Officer and Assistant Deputy Minister and has been with the organization since 2015.
With significant experience in strategic and business planning across a variety of industries and more than a decade of economic development experience, Traci has a solid understanding of how the public and private sectors intersect. She is a strategy-focused senior leader with a passion for driving economic growth in New Brunswick and building the strong team required to make it a reality. Under her leadership, ONB has been recognized annually for its award-winning culture.
Traci has an MBA from the University of New Brunswick and is currently serving as board chair for the Fredericton Community Foundation.
Opportunities NB (ONB) is the province of New Brunswick’s lead economic development agency mandated with fostering economic and business growth. ONB works with businesses of all sizes in every region of New Brunswick — helping them to invest, grow, scale, and tap new markets for their products and services. Shannon Ballard is the Chief Strategy Officer and part of the ownership team at Jan Kelley, one of Canada’s leading digital creative agencies.
Jan Kelley is celebrating its 110th anniversary in 2023 and is a fully independent, WBE certified, Canadian owned business. The agency is a proud two-time winner of the Waterstone Most Admired Culture Award and has also recently been awarded Canadian Business Excellence Award. Jan Kelley has over 70 team members and has been globally recognized for its work in performance digital, creative, and digital experience.
Shannon is a certified CXPA, with a proven track record for helping organizations position, develop and differentiate brands to inspire employees and drive growth. This includes a deep passion for building and driving organizational culture.
An active contributor in the community, Shannon was a volunteer with the Girl Guides of Canada for over 10 years as well as serving on the Board of Directors for Food for Life. Most recently, Jan Kelley launched its Humanology For Good Initiative donating agency services to advance the causes of deserving charities.
