Marc Viola

Marc Viola is a high-velocity leader who thinks and builds big. With Definity Financial Corporation (TSX:DFY) since 2019, he is Vice-President, Talent & Culture for one of Canada’s leading and most trusted property and casualty insurance companies. Definity had a $1.6 billion IPO in November of 2021, making them the biggest Canadian IPO of the year and the second largest in the history of the Toronto Stock Exchange. With Definity still in a period of rapid growth, Marc and his team are on a mission to elevate their culture of high-performance, high-engagement and employee promise of CARE.

He has previously held senior leadership positions with Loblaw and George Weston Limited where he was appointed a key HR leader for Talent, M&A projects, an international business unit and the scaling of new and pre-IPO businesses. Marc’s work has been featured in Forbes, the Financial Post and Canadian HR Reporter.

Marc is a Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE), holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. He is active on industry Boards, and a recipient of Workforce Management’s Game-Changer Award and Canadian Grocer’s Generation Next Award.

Marc is a passionate runner having competed in races in both Canada and the United States.

Tracey Villeneuve is the Director of Human Resources at Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group (OSEG). OSEG is a well-established fixture in the Ottawa community, owning and operating the Ottawa REDBLACKS Football Club (CFL) and the Ottawa 67’s Hockey Club (OHL), as well as hosting a range of other sports teams and events. Driven by her love of the sports and entertainment industry, Tracey looks to continually foster and promote an engaging employee experience and workplace culture.

Tracey has a strong focus and passion for building and driving HR strategy, people and culture, cultivating meaningful relationships, and contributing positively to the employee lifecycle. Tracey and her team are dedicated to creating and implementing value added HR programs that enhance the employee experience. She is a highly collaborative and trusted leader with the capacity to balance the organizational objectives with the needs of its people.

From oversight of HR strategy, implementing policy, program development, total rewards management, and provision of professional guidance and coaching, Tracey consistently demonstrates just how diverse her director role is at OSEG. Her position requires the ability to make sound and confident decisions and react to the fast-paced environment that is the world of sports and events. With a decade of experience specifically at OSEG, Tracey has become a staple in supporting her team and the broader OSEG employee community.
