Garnet Lasby is President of Massilly North America Inc. and a member of the Massilly Group Board of Directors. He is a passionate believer that sustained competitive advantage and a better society can be achieved by providing people with the opportunity to find purpose in their working lives.
Garnet has over 20 years experience in the food processing, preserving, and packaging industries. He joined Massilly in 2009 and since that time the privately held company has increased in size and valuation more than five-fold, driven by corporate purpose and thriving core values. Previously he founded a successful I.T. Services firm and started his career as a turnaround and restructuring professional in Ontario and Alberta.
Garnet holds a Bachelor or Arts and Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo and is a (recovering) Certified Professional Accountant. He is a longstanding member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and serves on its Board of Directors.

Layla Khalil is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources with over 15 years of experience in cultivating organizational culture, fostering employee engagement and driving strategic initiatives.
As the Vice President of People & Culture at East Coast Credit Union, Layla is responsible for leading transformational change and workforce strategies that align with the Credit Union’s priorities. Layla has a track record of promoting inclusive workplaces where employees feel valued, empowered and motivated to succeed. She is passionate about implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention and productivity.
Layla holds a master’s degree in business administration from Dalhousie University and a certificate in strategic HR Leadership from Cornell University. She has served as Board Chair for CPHR Nova Scotia as well as Board Director for CPHR Canada. Layla was awarded the highest Nova Scotian award, the HR Award of Excellence, and most recently the HR Team of the Year Award. She continues to be involved with the HR association, the Credit Union system and other networks to remain current on industry trends and best practices.
In her personal time, Layla strives to volunteer with community organizations. She is an avid traveler and enjoys exploring new areas, cultures and cuisines with her family.
