In preparation for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, the Trust for the National Mall and the National Park Service are embarking on an unprecedented campaign to upgrade and enrich the National Mall in time for the special celebrations. The Trust will lead a fundraising campaign as well as a public marketing and communications campaign to engage citizens in learning more about and connecting with the National Mall and the Trust for the National Mall. The Trust will be building its team for growth and success in meeting the objectives of the campaign over the next five years.
The Trust seeks an individual to serve as its Individual Major Gifts Officer. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the successful candidate will prospect, cultivate, and enhance relationships with donors both locally and nationally. They will manage a portfolio of 125-150 donors.
Competitive candidates will have experience closing six, seven, and eight figure gifts or sales. They will be comfortable around high-net-worth individuals and have an entrepreneurial mindset. Specific requirements and preferences include:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional work or military
- Successful track record managing a pipeline and portfolio and closing 6 and 7-figure gifts.
- Understanding of moves management and relationship building particularly with high net worth individuals is preferred.
- Commitment and passion for the work of the Trust.
This is a full-time position with regular work hours and up to 25-50% travel depending on the status and timing of the capital campaign.
